Friday Twilight – The Long March to Freedom

About

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of WW2 this film documentary produced by local film maker Stephen Saunders tells the story of how 30,000 Allied Prisoners of War were force-marched away from liberating forces. It is the beginning of an ordeal of starvation, savagery and suffering. Many will die. This film explores the stark story of an astonishing journey as told by its survivors, of their horrors of the Long March. With the passing of time their story has been forgotten - until now. Stephen Saunders the producer/director of the film will give a Q&A to help shed some insight into the stories and the true feelings of their ordeal. Free, film screening at 7pm, bar opens at 6pm.
