What’s On
There's never a shortage of events and activities in the City Centre. Night and day, you're sure to find something to keep you entertained.
There's a multitude of events tailored for the little ones across various venues such as Messy Museum at Potteries Museum & Art Gallery which is bound to keep those minds - and hands - occupied, as well as weekly story-telling sessions at City Central Library.
The local theatres - Regent Theatre, Victoria Hall and Mitchell Arts Centre - often play host to entertaining and engaging children's shows in their extensive line ups. Take Annie the Musical and the famous Pantomimes for example.
You'll also find a huge selection of whimsical activities at a number of venues like 'have-a-go' ceramic sessions at The Quarter.
Family friendly activities are hosted each season within the City Centre, most notably the Piccadilly Spooktacular organised by the BID which took place at Halloween and saw thousands of families come together for a street party full of treats, music, games and scares.
For the bigger kids out there, and particular music lovers, there's dozens of live music performances each week in venues from the 400-capacity The Sugarmill which has hosted the likes of Coldplay, A Day to Remember, Biffy Clyro, Catfish and The Bottlemen, and world famous DJs Todd Terry and Skream!, right through to the more intimate setting of Bloom which sees the most talented and melodic local signer songwriters take to the stage, or rather the corner of the room for an incredible up-close-and-personal performance.
We're rather known for our creativity here in Stoke-on-Trent so there's lots of arty activities and workshops to get involved in too, from life drawing on the second floor of the Slamwich Club, to mug decorating at Emma Bridgewater.
We're a lover of sports too so it's no surprise that one of the nation's most-loved (or could that be loathed, on account of the infamous Heartbreak Hill?!) half marathon, Potters 'Arf comes to the City Centre every summer.
And that is just a very short sample of events in the City Centre... Do browse the calendar and see what takes your fancy!
