Stoke-on-Trent, alongside Hull, Reading and Birmingham will host the installation in the lead up to the release of the third Fantastic Beasts film, which arrives in UK cinemas on 21st November 2021.

Standing fifteen feet tall and set within concrete bases, the nine wands – bringing to life those belonging to some of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films – illuminate each night, performing a light show to music from the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter films They were created in support of ‘Lumos’, whose mission is to end the institutionalisation of children around the world.

Cultural Champion for Tunstall, Dan Townley Said: “This is incredible news for the city and it’s another step forward for our cultural story. Getting the wands to the city involved A LOT of people believing in Stoke-on-Trent and going out there and placing their votes online and for us to be selected ahead of some “Bigger” cities is testament to how supportive our residents are. Personally speaking, as a Harry Potter fan and a fan of anything positive for our city I am doubly excited for the installation to stop off here!”
