Residents of Stoke on Trent are being invited to test their nerves this October half term at Hanley's XP-VR Virtual Reality XPerience.

The new virtual reality centre on Piccadilly in Hanley promises terrifying scares at their Halloween themed Fright Nights at the end of the month. Brave customers can try to hold back their screams whilst they play on the VR centre's scariest horror games, including 'Affected: The Manor' which is a virtual haunted house walk through and has been rated as one of the world's most scariest horror games.

Rhys Davey, one of the owners at XP-VR says "Affected The Manor is probably our scariest horror game and is one of my favourites because it has lots of jump scares and two different routes players can take inside the game. Even if you have played it before, you can't be sure of what is going to happen as the game has 4 different terrifying endings. "

Customers attending the Halloween Fright Nights will also be able to play on other scary virtual reality horror games, including braving a trip inside an abandoned mine, exploring a haunted graveyard as well as teaming up in a multiplayer group to fight off hordes of mutant zombies running at players from every direction inside a pitch black canyon.

"We're really looking forward to seeing customer's faces as they try to brave their fear of heights and step off a virtual plank 100 storeys in the air" adds Rhys, although he cautions "we use the HTC Vive Pro headsets so that means you can see 360 degrees around you inside our games. Things could creep up behind you or jump out in your face when you are least expecting it. There's going to be lots of screaming"

XPVR opened in the city in July and allows customers to team up and try over 40 virtual reality experiences available, including trying the 7D simulators and two virtual escape games set in the worlds of Assassins Creed. More information can be found on their website www.xpvr.co.uk

Due to the frightening content of some of the games, players attending their Halloween VR Fright Nights must be aged 15 years or over. The events run nightly from 6pm - 10pm on Monday 28th October until Friday 1st November. Fright Night tickets are on sale at their website www.xpvr.co.uk and start from £20 per player for 30 minutes.
