Friday 8 May 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day and to honour this occasion the day has been declared a Bank Holiday. Due to the current pandemic all commemorative public events have been cancelled so the museum has developed a range of online activities to help people celebrate at home.

Have a go at our craft activities to help you decorate your home including making homemade bunting, paper Spitfires and a Union Jack paper hat to wear on the day and a range of puzzles to do over the anniversary weekend.

You may not be able to join in a street party but we have some delicious WW2 treats that you can make for your own picnic in the garden or Afternoon Tea including Carrot Cookies and Potato Cakes.

Discover the stories behind a range of WW2 objects at the museum and see some of our archive photographs.

On Sunday 10 May at 1pm join History's Maid for an online talk and learn all about rationing, blackouts, dig for victory, VE day itself and what the future held once war was over.

Please visit http://www.stokemuseums.org.uk/pmag/ve-day/ for the full programme of activities.
