‘Every other Seat’ at the Better World Festival is the latest development in DUST Rising’s exhibition series which began in Piccadilly in September 2020 and moved to empty shops and the Market Square, Newcastle under Lyme February-April 2021. DUST Rising is reaffirming its passion for a continuous artistic showcase for and about the region during Better World Festival August 6th, 7th, and 8th 2021.

‘Every other Seat’ is a growing collection of adapted or designed seats by artists and students exploring the current situation for the Arts during the Pandemic. It has been commissioned by Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID with the SoT City Council plus Appetite and NUL BID. A range of newly commissioned artist adapted seats as well as the previous seats (will be returning) and will be on display at Smithfield and the
Regent Theatre. All our artist seats are either recycled or repurposed.

DUST Rising Curators have said: "It is so important that we continue what we do in public venues; that we grow and provide art events and activities that engage people. We want with ‘Every other Seat’ at the Better World Festival, to keep on proving that the arts are for everyone to enjoy and can still take on serious issues in difficult times. In fact, we believe, they are pivotal in helping create a better world for us all. We also want to highlight that recycling and revisioning things is a way of moving towards a compassionate and understanding world too.”
